After the automotive expert has arranged an appraisal appointment with you and the provider of your vehicle, he drives to the vehicle location on the day of the appraisal. There he discusses the procedure of the inspection with the provider and clarifies whether a test drive is possible, the vehicle documents are available and the lifting platform, if available, can be used. After that, the expert will start the vehicle inspection in your presence, pointing out defects as well as their repair costs and advising you on the vehicle purchase. Based on this information, it can be assessed whether the condition of the vehicle corresponds to that of the advertisement and whether the purchase price is appropriate.
In the inspection:
- he works through a checklist of over 150 motor vehicle features
- he checks the function of all equipment features
- he performs a thorough inspection of the vehicle, a test drive and a test run of the drive unit
- he measures the paint thicknesses on all parts of the body for accident testing
- he examines the underbody of the vehicle, if a lifting platform is available.
